The Florida Marlins announced Monday they have acquired right-handed pitcher Jared Camp from the Minnesota Twins in exchange for right-handed pitcher Johan Santana and cash consideration in a trade made at the completion of the Major League phase of the 1999 Rule V Draft. Camp was the first player selected in the draft, as the Twins drafted the righthander from the Cleveland Indians. The Marlins selected Santana from the Houston Astros with the second pick in the draft. Camp will remain on the team’s 40-man roster.
