Cliff Floyd Named NL Player of the Week
Marlins outfielder Cliff Floyd was named the National League Player of the Week for September 25 – October 1, 2000. Floyd led the League with a 1.053 slugging percentage and tied for the League lead with 11 RBI and four doubles, as he helped the Marlins end their season on a season-high six-game winning streak. He was second in the League with a .526 batting average and a .565 on-base percentage and tied for third with 20 total bases. On September 30 against Philadelphia, Floyd went 4×5 with his first career grand slam and six RBI to help the Marlins to an 11-5 win.
