Marlins Lock-up Preston Wilson for the Future

The Florida Marlins have announced they have agreed to terms on a five-year contract with center fielder Preston Wilson. President and General Manager David Dombrowski made the announcement. Wilson, 26, batted .264 with career highs in home runs (31), RBI (121) and stolen bases (36) last season. He became just the 23rd player in Major League history and the first Marlin to produce a 30-30 season. It marked the 38 th time a player has produced a 30-30 season in the Majors with Wilson becoming the 14 th active player in the club.
