On Sunday, Mike Rabelo was on the bad end of several mistakes — the kind of errors and mental lapses we’ve seen happen to this team often. But now, perhaps as a wake-up call to the entire roster, the Fish have sent Rabelo down to AAA and called up Paul Hoover. Hopefully, Rabelo will benefit from this opportunity to start everyday and get his act together.
Another win for the first place Marlins, this time riding a strong performance by Mark Hendrickson and surviving another outfield blunder. Great play by Josh Willingham to save a game tying homerun.
In unrelated news, Mike Rabelo was activated off the DL and Paul Hoover was sent down to AAA.
The Marlin placed Mike Rabelo on the disabled list and are likely to keep Paul Hoover around until he returns.
Not yet confirmed but it is likely that Jeremy Hermida will also start the season on DL meaning either Alexis Gomez or Brett Carroll will join the opening day roster.

Huh? Why did we lose Jose Garcia? Why would we sit on him for a year as he recovers from surgery only to lose him?
I’m guessing the Fish tried to sneak him through but the smart guys at Oakland didn’t miss a beat. As for Reginald Damascus Abercrombie, I can’t say much because like everyone else I liked his talent but frankly he was constantly given opportunities and never delivered. Maybe a change of scenery will help. BTW, you think we could have packaged those two in a trade for a veteran pitcher? Anyway.
