Most of you on the East Coast (we’re out west) were probably sleeping and had a nightmare involving Dan Uggla make three errors and striking out three times (including twice with runners in scoring position). I can tell you that it never happened, the game never happened, this one did not count.

Dan, if you’re reading this, and I’m sure you’re not — stop worrying about it and move on. Thanks to the magic of HDTV it was clear from 3,000 miles away that you were freaking out in your own calm way. Real baseball returns on Friday and you can continue your great season in a critical battle against the first-place Phillies.

Update: To all the non-Marlins fans who are hitting our site today looking for everything and anything about Dan Uggla: He’s ours, he’s great, get over it!

Don’t forget to watch our very own Hanley Ramirez lead-off tonight’s game. Let’s hope that Dan Uggla gets a chance to play too.

Hanley Ramirez became the second Marlin every voted into a starting position for an All-Star game. Joining Hanley, who will start at shortstop in his first ever All-Star game, is Dan Uggla who will be part of his second All-Star game and is one of a few candidates for the starting DH position. Uggla is also likely to participate in the Home Run Derby.

Since no one shows up to games at Joe Robbie Stadium, Hanley Ramirez lost his status as leading vote-getter among NL shortstops. 72-year old shortstop Miguel Tejada of the Astros is now up by almost 120K votes. Clearly, Astros fans are doing their job because all of the Astros infielders are getting quite a few votes.

Tejada is having a good year (.300 BA, 7 HR, 39 RBI, .335 OBP, .466 SLG, 46 R, 5 SB) but Hanley is having a better year (.299 BA, 14 HR, 31 RBI, .389 OBP, .525 SLG, 53 R, 15 SB). Yes, I realize that Tejada has 8 more RBIs, but he bats 3rd in the lineup while Hanley has spent most of the season at leadoff.

All I can say is keep voting Marlins fans.

is currently leading all National League shortstops in All-Star voting. With more than a month to go, Hanley has 268,386 votes — a ~12K vote lead over second place, and now 2-years older, Miguel Tejada of the Astros. Considering how few people show up at Joe Robbie Stadium, it looks like out-of-town fans and online voter are helping H2R make it to The Stadium. Dan Uggla is the only other Marlin in shouting distance, coming in 4th and ~412K votes behind Chase Utley.

So do your part to help get our guys into the game by voting often (up to 25 times per email address). And even though they’re not on the radar screen, don’t forget to vote for the other Marlins including Jacque Jones who is listed as an outfielder on the American League Ballot.

It’s been a Marlins fest on TBS today. First, the Fish nearly blew a game against the Braves, ultimately winning on Josh Willingham’s 5th hit of the game. Now, we find out that Miguel Cabrera, will join Fredi Gonzalez on the 2007 National League All-Star team. The fans screwed up in voting for David Wright over Miguel to start the game. Miguel is the better player and is having a much better season. Miguel makes his 4th All-Star game — a Marlins record. With limited roster spots and every team needing a representative, deserving Fish like Dan Uggla and Hanley Ramirez were snubbed. Of course, with our record, you can understand why this may of happened.

While we’re at it, lets recognize the former Marlins the made the team: Mike Lowell, Josh Beckett, Pudge Rodriguez, Derrek Lee, Brad Penny, and Jim Leyland (AL Manager).

The game will be played in San Francisco on July 10th.

Update: Cody Ross said it best: “I’m boycotting the All-Star Game. I’ll watch Miggy, then I’m going to turn it off.”

Marlins manager Fredi Gonzalez will be on Tony La Russa’s staff at this years All-Star game. Willie Randolph of the Mets needs surgery so Fredi was asked to take his spot. Now that we have our rookie manager in, lets hope Cabrera, Uggla, and Ramirez get their deserving call.
