Welcome Back to Fish@Bat
-
It’s the off-season but we continue to make Fish@Bat better.
Fish@Bat is all about Miami Marlins information overload, aggregating our blog posts and the @fishatbat twitter account on a single responsive user experience. Every post has a colorful flag identifying its topic and you can view posts in that topic by clicking on the flag or by clicking on the “Topics” tab on the left sidebar menu. For example, check out all the posts in the GIANCARLO! category.
fishatbat.com is deeply integrated with Twitter. All of our tweets (with a few minor exceptions) are automatically posted and labeled with a blue @FISHATBAT flag. If you reply or retweet our tweets on Twitter, those replies and RTs are shared and posted on the corresponding post on the website. Additionally, you can comment directly on fishatbat.com using your Twitter or Facebook accounts.
Expect more updates to the design and capabilities over the next few months as we, like the Marlins, retool for the 2013 season.
Go Marlins!

Marlins Dump Heath Bell
-
Heath Bell is Arizona’s problem now.
The Marlins have traded their frustrating reliever to Arizona as part of a 3-team trade with Oakland. In exchange for Bell, the Marlins receive minor league third baseman Yordy Cabrera from the Athletics. As part of the trade, Arizona also acquired infielder Cliff Pennington from Oakland for outfielder Chris Young.
Bell will not be missed.

Marlins Sign Adam Greenberg to Give Him One At Bat
-
After an online campaign, the Marlins have agreed to sign Adam Greenberg to a 1-day contract and allow him to get his one career at bat on October 2, 2012. Greenberg, who recently played for Israel in the World Baseball Classic, made his major league debut against the Marlins in 2008 but his career ended that day when in his first plate appearance, he was struck in the head by a Valerio de los Santos pitch. The goodwill gesture/marketing gimmick was approved by MLB with Greenberg’s one-day salary going to charity.
