  • The Marlins have selected LHP Andrew Heaney with the 9th pick in the 2012 First-Year Player Draft.

    Heaney is a Junior at Oklahoma State University where he racked up awards including 2012 Louisville Slugger Division I First-Team All-American, 2012 Big 12 Conference Pitcher of the Year and All-Big 12 First Team performer. This past season, he has compiled an 8-2 record and a 1.60 ERA in 15 starts. He lead the NCAA with 140 strikeouts in 118.1 innings and opponent his .180 against him.

    Raised in Oklahoma City, Heaney attended Putnam City High School. He is 6-2 and weights 174 pounds and turns 21 tomorrow (June 5th).

  • Back in 1998, Gary Sheffield recommended a 22 year-old barber from Carol City to his teammates, no one could have expected that they young Hugo Tandron would spend the next 14 years as the official barber of the Marlins. With the move to Marlins Park, Tandron now his his own space at the ballpark and recently began having his clients (Marlins, visiting players and other celebrities) autograph his wall and thanks to the magic of social media, he has shared the photos below with his followers.
