Loria: “But I don’t call them up and say, ‘This is what is going to happen.’ That’s not true.” (via @Ken_Rosenthal)
Loria: “I don’t make decisions on who to pitch and when, how to go about it — that’s not my role.” (via @Ken_Rosenthal)
Loria said he didn’t make the decision
If I’m Nolasco’s agent, this is a good excuse to make noise and force a trade. Ricky’s a FA and playing for this team hurts his value.
Again, the consequence of the Marlins’ “no loyalty” policy is that players, staff and fans will turn on you. Loyalty goes both ways.
One of the consequences of the Marlins FO’s views on loyalty is that players and staff don’t mind airing dirty laundry.
With a normal team, we would be talking about what a great veteran Nolasco is for making the change to help the rookie. But it’s the Marlins
I’m fascinated by how everything Loria related is blown out of proportion. He deserves it, but let’s try to be rational.
The Marlins split the double-header with the Twins. They won the Nolasco start. Who cares if the FO switched pitchers. Big deal.
