The Arizona Diamonbacks have filed a grievance to get Abraham Nunez back from the Marlins. He was recently acquired by the Marlins to complete the Mantei trade. The original list of players to be considered by the Marlins also included pitchers Stephen Randolph and Jason Boyd. But Boyd was traded to Pittsburgh and Randolph missed six weeks of last season with an arm injury. A previous grievance was already denied.

The Marlins will resign Dave O’Brien to a long-term contract to become the team’s number one broadcaster. Joe Angel will not receive a new deal. Both will continue to broadcast this season.

The Florida Marlins Community Foundation will be presenting two $5,000 donations to help support the African American Council of Christian Clergy’s “A Dream Come True” toy drive and the Broward County Crimestoppers’ “Toys for Tots and Teens” toy drive.
