The Florida Marlins announced Wednesday they have recalled the injury rehab assignment from Brevard County (A) and reinstated from the disabled list right-handed pitcher Dan Miceli and optioned the contract of right-handed pitcher Joe Strong to AAA Calgary.

A.J. Burnett was activated earlier than expected when Brad Penny was placed on the Disabled List. Penny lasted on 3-1/3 innings against the Braves and will have an MRI on his strained right shoulder. Burnett has been on the DL since spring training with a ruptured ligamed in his righ thumb.
