Bryan Petersen singled in his first Major League at bat and then scored the winning run as the Marlins beat the National 4-2. Here is what he had to say after the game (courtesy of the Sun-Sentinel):
just after being swept by the Giants, the Marlins designate Mike Lamb for assignment and called up Bryan Petersen from AAA. Lamb went 4-18 in 18 games.
Petersen gives the Marlins another outfielder to plug in the lineup while Coghlan and Maybin are struggling. The move could also setup an opening for newly signed Doug Mientkiewicz, who will join AAA in the next few days.
Oh… and Mike Stanton hit a 500-foot homerun.
